I was once working with a man; oracle performance tuning and noticed he would leave in the middle of the day. When questioned he said he only took contracts that allowe him to pick and drop his son from school. Financial gain is not always most prioritised or of most significance to everyone. There is also the situation that companies are not emotional or place importance on employee loyalty when staff cutbacks are to be made.

When he left I found a letter on my desk in which he wrote he wished I remebered him and had cut out his picture from his security pass and stuck it on the letter; I thought it was sweet and I was pleased that he had had the respect to not leave a number.

People are not inclined to want to do anything much unless it is to spite or deceive or manipulate another for their own advantage. Had the economy not recovered as it had to the level it has, more control would have been with the fewer that are govenment controlled, of which consequences would have been worse. People dont relise its not mugs, that do such, but people that are able to see on a more global level and for the benefit of a larger number of people; living in the land of the khafar.

Times of the serhabia, people got married and divorced all the time;it was not a long process but simple and quick; culture is not religion and most of culture is not allowed in islam. Today much of religion and has been manipulated to the advantage of a few people, and people are told that culture is religion. The funniest would have to be when a khafar tells a muslim, isnt that your religion and for some, dont even know enough obout our on religion to not be manupulated.

It comes as a surprise to many people, allah said 4 wives and if you cannot afford to keep 4, then 1. This would explain the ration of womwn to men population that exists today. I was shopping in oxford street one day and I was looking for armani jeans and this guy he says, dont buy those do you know they are made in some third world country, in the back of a sweat shop somewhere. So now I try my best to make sure I shop from places that dont use such working conditions.

Besmillah ir rahman nir raheem,

Restoring the honor and integrity of Hijama

As we have stated all along, the practice of hijama in the west would eventually be usurped by proud people looking to turn this blessed and prophetic procedure into a business. Search the web now and you will find dozens of people offering training courses in hijama and cupping, where only a few years ago there were one or two. Before accepting these many programs as being authoritative, make certain to ask where the person or persons offering the training received their training (ijaaza) and where their teacher's teacher received their training (ijaaza). As Muslims, followers of Prophet Muhammad (saw), we are not people who run after false titles, fake certificates, degrees and positions, creating things out of thin air. True leaders are not elected, they are selected. Without a real ijaaza to practice hijama, the procedure will not receive the healing blessings that an authorized person can provide. Otherwise, you are practicing cupping, not hijama.

The primary purpose of this introductory cupping (hijama) course is to train the student in the basic moral standards, manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits, and desirable prophetic attitudes necessary to obtain an ijaaza as an authorized assistant cupping practitioner. All students who successfully complete the course will then be required to perform at least (50) fifty hours of practical work experience along side an (authorized) cupper with an ijaaza to practice and teach hijama.

Practitioners who wish to offer services to the public and train others, will then need to complete the requirements for the Hijama Course before receiving a final ijaaza to actually perform cupping. Students completing the Hijama Course will be granted an ijaaza as an assistant cupping practitioner. Those students receiving an ijaaza as an assistant cupping practitioner will automatically be enrolled in the Hijama Course. There are no current academic charges foreseen for the Hijama Course, although there are related travel expenses.

Students should fully understand there is no guarantee, no matter how technically proficient you may have become, that you will be granted and ijaaza. First and foremost, a successful ijaaza candidate will have high moral character and honor. Those coming to teach rather than learn, or seeking to "start a business", should likely not waste their or our valuable time.

The objective in offering courses is only to identify real healers who can provide authentic hijama services to the general public and uphold this important sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (saw) in a respectful and honorable manner. We are charging for the courses to make certain students are serious. Certain supplies and books will need to be purchased by each student as well. We will consider a sliding scale for those in financial need. Students who already have a hijama set and want to use their own may have to submit a picture of the set for approval.

Questions:

* What do you understand the term authorized ijaaza to mean and how does it differ from the term certification or degree?

* Take one ailment or illness you believe benefits from hijama treatment and describe why you think hijama works to cure that illness or disease?

* Please briefly describe why you believe such a profoundly intelligent and articulate man, Prophet Muhammad (saw), was illiterate (unlettered). (For those non-Muslims not familiar with Prophet Muhammad this may require some research, just do your best to answer - we will cover this in the course).

* Please provide a short explanation as to why you wish to learn about hijama and provide any experience or training you think to be relevant.

For the honor of the most honored amongst creation, Saydinah Muhammad (saw).

WaJaazillahu khairun Wasalaamu Alaikum Warahmatulahi Wabarakatuh

“And We sent down from the Qur’ân that which is a Healing and a
Mercy to those Who Believe (in Islâmic Monotheism and act on it”.{17:82}

Spiritual afflictions and their types:

Spiritual afflcitons occur in five categories.

1. Ayn (evil eye), 2. Sahir (magic), 3. Jinn possession, 4. Sahir with jinn possession, 5.Ayn
with jinn possession.

Sahir and Ayn can cause the patient’s body to become open to possession. In many cases if a
patient suffers from sahir the sorcerer will send a jinn along with the magic. More commonly, a
jinn will be responsible to safe guard the spell, from being found or broken.

There are insistences where jinn will enter a person’s body by themselves, this can be due to a
number of reasons, most commonly if a jinn falls in love with the patient he/she will enter the
body when the opportunity presents itself. Other times if a jinn is harmed by a human
(unknowingly (the jinn may enter the patient’s body to take revenge or harm him/her from
outside. In rare cases passion may take place if the patient’s body is open (dua to sinning) or if
entering the body the is easy, the jinn will do so.

To safeguard oneself agasint spiritual afflctions . There are a number of measures that every
beliver should follow daily. Many of the measures that are used to treat patients, are the same
measures one should employ as protection against afflictions .

Spitirual Afflcitons in Children:

It is also becoming increasingly common for young children to be affected spititual aflctions
espcially evil eye and or possession by jinn, children may also be bullyied by jinn externally
(from the outside without entering their body). Children are an easy target, because they are
small and are unable to use the protective measures stipulated in the Sunna to protect
themselves. This is why it is essential that parents safe guard their children at all times, paying
particular attention to the following:

1. Morning and evening adkar (remembrance for the morning and evening) making sure these
are recited over their children as specified in the sunnah (as the Messenger of Allah( peace be
upon him) use RECITE over Hassan and Hussain (may Allah be pleased with them)

2. Making sure the parents recite the 6 daily athkar (especially the dua before entering the
toilet) Most children are possessed when they are in the toilet. (germs)

There are some common symptoms, that can be found in children who suffer from afflictions.
Many of them are similar to that of adults. (However at this point in time, these symptoms have
not been complied for this document).

The earliest age Quranic healing has observed the onset of an affliction in children is two years
old, however evil eye could occur much earlier then that. (In cases where the mother had been
suffering from an affliction during or prior to pregnancy most likely the child will be affected
from the outside if not the inside.

Human sickness and spiritual afflictions

Contrary to many misconceptions, it can be said that all psychological and physical afflictions
(illnesses’) after the Qader of Allah are actually caused by the shyateen, the evidence for this is
numerous, but just to touch the surface, below are just some examples:

“I indeed forgot the fish, none but Shaitan (Satan) made me forget to remember it.
(Sura kalf 18:63)

“Those who eat Riba (usury) will not stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except like the
standing of a person beaten by Shaitan (Satan) leading him to insanity.”

(Sura Baqra 2:275)

“And (remember) Ayub , when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me,
and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy." (Sura Ambiya 21:83)

The Dua that is recited when one or is feeling lonely or depressed:

“I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, from
the evil of His slaves and from the taunts of devils and from their presence.”

(Abu Dawud 4/12. See also Al-Albani, Sahih At- Tirmithi 3/171 fortress of a muslim
page 134)

Narrated that Sulaymaan ibn Surad said: I was sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and two men were trading insults, One of them was red
in the face and his veins were standing out. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I know a word which,  what he is feeling would go away.
If he said, ‘I seek refuge with Allaah from the Shaytaan,’ what he is feeling would go
away.” (Al-Bukhaari (3282) and Muslim (2610)

"O my Lord, Job's wealth is gone, his children are dead, but he is still healthy in body, and as long
as he enjoys good health he will continue to worship You in the hope of regaining his wealth and
producing more children. Grant me authority over his body so that I may weaken it. He will surely
neglect worshipping You and will thus becomes disobedient"

Allah wanted to teach Iblis a lesson that Job was a devoted servant of his Lord, so He granted Iblis
his third request but placed a condition:

"I give you authority over his body but not over his soul, intellect, or heart, for in these places
reside the knowledge of Me and My religion"

Armed with this new authority, Iblis began to take revenge on Job's body and filled it with disease
until it was reduced to mere skin and bone and he suffered severe pain. But through all the suffering Job
remained string in his faith, patiently bearing all the hardships without complaining. Allah's righteous
servant did not despair or turn to others for help but remained hopeful of Allah's Mercy. Even close
relatives and friends deserted him. Only his kind loving wife stayed with him. In his hour of need, she
showered her kindness on him and cared for him. She remained his sole companion and comforter
through many years of his suffering.

Ibn Tayymiyya in his Essay “The Jinn demons” mentions that almost everyone suffers from
either sahir or jinn possession. This is something that is becoming evidently noticeable today.

Sheikh Billal Phillips, also mentioned simmilar in his thesis research (in which he looked at
cases studies across the world of patients who suffered from spiritual affliction.) found that
patients with mental illness such as schizophrenia actually experienced Physiological changes
that could be measured and recorded, such as changes in heart, pulse rate, and voice. This is
something that has been observed in psychological case studies of patients suffering from
mental illness.

Patients suffering from psychological illness such as schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disorder etc. These cases are
undeniable caused by spiritual afflictions, psychiatrists themselves do not know much about
psychological illness. They do not know how they are caused, what triggers them when they
affect a person or how to combat them, but they know only how to describe their symptoms
and how to control them. Many ruqiya patients suffering from such illness were cured after
seeking the correct ruqiya, or their jinn spoke in the ruqiya session confirming that it was them
that were causing the illness. (Voices from split personalities talking)

Some psychiatrists (non-Muslim and Muslim) are themselves seeking ruqiya and have admitted
that some of their patients suffer from something beyond just a mental illness. Many mental
patients exhibit all the symptoms of jinn possession, or specific types of magic such as lunacy.
Many patients claim that there are people that they talk to,(other people cannot see them) or
that they can hear voices. In such cases the patient would actually go into different
personalities, and become almost like a different person, complete with a different name, life
history (including intricate details) of a different life, as well as heart and pulse rate changes.

These occurrences cannot be described as anything other than jinn possession/ spiritual
afflictions, in which the various jinn would speak (through the patient)

Common Misconceptions:

If in the case the patient experiences no reaction during ruqiya or with any of the internal
measures. This does not neccesserily mean that the jinn has left the patient or the patient is
cured. The jinn are clever and play tricks, they may for example reduce the symptoms for a
while so that the patient thinks they are cured, only to leave the treatment, after which and
symptoms reoccur. The patient should continue with the treatment program, until they are
advised by the recommended raqi to stop and until all of their illness (psychological and
physical) are lifted, after which they should feel completely light, relaxed and calm in addition phase 2 (ibada)
of the treatment program is a measures the patient should continue with throughtout their life
for protection.

No reaction to Ruqiya:

It is a common misconception that if a patient does not have an overt and visible reaction
during ruqiya or to the recitation of the Quran that there is nothing wrong with them. However this
is not the case, In most cases the patient does not react to ruqiya until many session into the
treatment, it is only in certain cases that the patient will overtly react to ruqiya, Quran or other
forms of ibadaa. If the jinn has come through magic then their main goal avoid being exposed
because if this happens the magician will further oppress them, and they fear the magician very
much.

There have been many patients who have felt no reaction or any kind of sensation during
ruqiya for as far as a year, even though they were implementing the ruqiya program, In some
cases the patient only felt a heavyness, in other cases the paient first felt relief at first and then
sleepy. However with such cases later on it emerged that infact the patient was affliected with
one or (most commonly) multiple spritual afflctions and most having been possed by 6-8 jinn
(the most commen case)

This may be due to many reasons such as the strength of the afflcition: The stronger the
affliction ,the jinn tasked for the job (especially if it is an ifreet) the higher the number of jinn
that possess the person) weather or not the jinn are belivers as apose do disbelievers,

All effect the level of ones reaction to ibadaa and Islamic medicine. Anotther facter that affects
the patients treatment is the length of time the patient has lived with the affliction without
seeking the cure the longer the patient has suffered the less reaction they will initially have to
ruqiyah (and the islamic medicine) and therefore the longer and more difficult it will be to treat .
However by consistently continuing with the program the afflictions will get weaker (with the
permission of Allah) therefore may possibly exhibit itself more overtly.

Dormant Afflictions:

This is becoming the most common case today. Usually an individual or a family may be
afflicted overtly. However when they begin a rigorous ruqiya program, it emerges that the
individual had already been living for many years with one or (in most cases) a variety of
afflictions, which were dormant (the symptoms were not exhibited overtly)

This can be a cause drawn from a family history of afflctions. many people may have had a family
member who was /is afflicted, or many members of their family who were afflicted for many
years (usually who had not sought the appropriate treatment) as a result the afflicition was
carried down to other members of the family , either by the jinn harming or possiessing other
members, in other certain cases the magic itself maybe passed to others.

Possessions during Ramadan:

Another common misconception among the masses is, that possession cannot occur during
ramadan, or that the patients symptoms should ease during ramadan because the devils are
chained up. However, case studies have shown this is not the case. It is possible that the correct
understanding of the hadith is that, the worse of the devils (only) are the ones who are chained
while other devils, as well as the disobedient Muslim jinn are still free. Sheikh Abdulla Azzam
mentioned something similar to this, as he knew of a magician (who later repented and left
sorcery,) who confirmed this:

”The major jinns are the ones who are chained, while the minor devils are left to move
about.”['at tarbiyah al-Jihadiyyah wal-Bina''; 3/86-93]

In terms of case based evidence, Quranic Healing has observed a number of cases, in which
people were either afflicted during Ramadan or whose symptoms either remained at the same
level or increased. This was also observed in conservative Muslim countries such as Yemen in
which many students of knowledge (from dammaj) found an increased number of possessions
during taraweeh prayers (they would pray outside).

The reason for this could be for two reasons . 1. The sorcerer or leader (oppressive) among jinn
may leave instructions to the remaining jinn to ensure the patient does not use this time (while
the leader is absent ) to recover, and so the remaining jinn may increase their oppression upon
the patient 2. To decrease the moral of the patient.

Asking for Ruqiya and Tawwakal (Trust in Allah)

Many patients feel averse to seeking ruqiya quoting the hadith of the 70,000 who will enter
paradise , due to their trust in Allah and not seeking ruqiya.

This indeed is a very virtuous deed and one only hopes that we may be included in that 70,000
however does that mean that patients should not seek ruqiya? if that was the case why did
the prophet (peace be upon him) perform ruqiya for others, and tell others to use it.

The level of tawwakel depends on the individuals existing emaan, so by not seeking maybe
suitable for some but not others. For example if a patient has been afflicted with an affliction
but this patient is someone who’s level of tawwakel is already at that high level that their
affliction does not in anyway negatively affect their ibadaa or their emaan, (it does not suffer in
anyway), but instead remains at the same level as prior to the affliction or increases and
improves due to the trial such as the Muslims in imprisoned in Guantanamo bay prison, or
Muslims in gaza, or Sheik Abu Muhmmad al Madaqsi, (May Allah persevere them) then
Alhamdullilah these Muslims do not need to seek the ruqiya and they should put their trust in
Allah and be patient.

However most patients do not fit in to this category and their ibadaa and emaan is the first
aspect that is negatively affected. In this case the patient has not reached that level of emaan
and tawwakel for them to avoid ruqiya. Instead is can become a trick from shaytan to avert
them from seeking the cure. These patients need support and advise, which is based on the
foundations of developing tawwakel, and inshallah with time most of the patients through the
ruqiya program do develop much further in their tawwakal and Allah is the source of strength

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

This hadeeth indicates that not asking is better, just as not using cautery is better, but when
there is a need for it, there is nothing wrong with asking for ruqyah or using cautery, because
the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) told ‘Aa’ishah to ask for ruqyah for an
illness that had befallen her, and he told the mother of the children of Ja‘far ibn Abi Taalib (may
Allah be pleased with him), whose name was Asma’ bint ‘Umays (may Allah be pleased with
her), to seek ruqyah for them. This indicates that there is nothing wrong with that when there is
a need to ask for ruqyah. End quote.

Majmoo‘ Fataawa Ibn Baaz, 25/118-119

Permissibility of receiving payment for Ruqiya and reciting over water
and Olive oil.

“There is nothing wrong with receiving payment for reciting ruqyah for one who is sick, because
it is proven in al-Saheehayn that a group of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) set out on a journey and travelled until they (made) came near
one of the Arab tribes. (These people were either kaafirs or very stingy, as Ibn al-Qayyim
mentioned in al-Madaarij). They asked them for hospitality but they refused to do so. Then the
leader of that tribe was stung, and they tried everything but nothing helped him. Then some of
them said, Why don’t you go to those people who are staying (nearby)? Maybe some of them
have something. So they went to them and said, O people, our leader has been stung and we
have tried everything and nothing helped him. Do any of you have something? One of them
said, Yes, by Allaah. I will perform ruqyah for him, but by Allaah we asked you for hospitality
and you did not give us anything, so we will not perform ruqyah for you unless you give us
something in return. So they agreed on a flock of sheep, then he started to blow on him and
recite Al-hamdu Lillaahi Rabb il-‘Aalameen. Then he recovered quickly from his complaint and
started walking, and there was nothing wrong with him. Then they have them what they had
agreed to, and some of them (the Sahaabah) said, Let us share it out. The one who had
performed ruqyah said, Do not do anything until we come to the Prophet (peace and blessings
of Allaah be upon him) and tell him what happened, and we will wait and see what he tells us to
do. So they came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and

told him what had happened. He said, “How did you know that it is a ruqyah?” Then he said,
“You did the right thing.”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari (2115) and Muslim(4080).

Reciting over water and olive oil:

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked: We heard of some people who
treat others by means of the Qur’aan; they recite Qur’aan and du’aa’s that are prescribed in
sharee’ah over water or olive oil as a remedy for witchcraft, the evil eye and madness (the
touch of the shaytaan), and they receive payment for that. Is this permissible according to
sharee’ah? Does reciting over water or olive oil come under the same ruling as reciting over the
sick person himself?

“There is nothing wrong with reciting over water or olive oil to treat the sick person, the one on
whom a spell has been cast or the one who is insane, but reciting over the patient and blowing
over him is better and preferable. Abu Dawood (may Allaah have mercy on him) narrated with a
hasan isnaad that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) recited over water
for Thaabit ibn Qays ibn Shammaas and poured it over him. And the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him.

THE FOURTH GENERATION PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE.

The term fourth-generation programming language (1970s-1990) (abbreviated 4GL) is better understood to be a fourth generationenvironment; packages of systems development software including very high level programming languages.[1] A very high levelprogramming language and a development environment or 'Analyst Workbench' designed with a central data dictionary system, a library of loosely coupled design patterns, a CRUD generator, report generator, end-user query language, DBMS, visual design tool and integration API. Historically often used for prototyping and evolutionary development of commercial business software[citation needed]. In the history of computer science, the 4GL followed the 3GL in an upward trend toward higher abstraction and statement power[citation needed]. The 4GL was followed by efforts to define and use a 5GL[citation needed].

The natural-language, block-structured mode of the third-generation programming languages improved the process of software development. However, 3GL development methods can be slow and error-prone. It became clear that some applications could be developed more rapidly by adding a higher-level programming language and methodology which would generate the equivalent of very complicated 3GL .

instructions with fewer errors[citation needed]. In some senses, software engineering arose to handle 3GL development. 4GL and 5GL projects are more oriented toward problem solving and systems engineering.[citation needed]

All 4GLs are designed to reduce programming effort, the time it takes to develop software, and the cost of software development. They are not always successful in this task, sometimes resulting in inelegant and unmaintainable code. However, given the right problem, the use of an appropriate 4GL can be spectacularly successful as was seen with MARK-IV and MAPPER (see History Section, Santa Fe real-time tracking of their freight cars – the productivity gains were estimated to be 8 times over COBOL). The usability improvements obtained by some 4GLs (and their environment) allowed better exploration for heuristic solutions than did the 3GL.

A quantitative definition of 4GL has been set by Capers Jones, as part of his work on function point analysis. Jones defines the various generations of programming languages in terms of developer productivity, measured in function points per staff-month[citation needed]. A 4GL is defined as a language that supports 12–20 function points per staff month. This correlates with about 16–27 lines of code per function point implemented in a 4GL[citation needed].

Fourth-generation languages have often been compared to domain-specific programming languages (DSLs). Some researchers state that 4GLs are a subset of DSLs.[2][3]

[edit]History

Though used earlier in papers and discussions, the term 4GL was first used formally by James Martin in his 1982 book Applications Development Without Programmers [4] to refer to non-procedural, high-level specification languages. In some primitive way, early 4GL's were included in the Informatics MARK-IV (1967) product and Sperry's MAPPER (1969 internal use, 1979 release).

The motivations for the '4GL' inception and continued interest are several. The term can apply to a large set of software products. It can also apply to an approach that looks for greater semantic properties and implementation power. Just as the 3GL offered greater power to the programmer, so too did the 4GL open up the development environment to a wider population.

In a sense, the 4GL is an example of 'black box' processing, each generation (in the sense of the page) is further from the machine (see the Computer Science history in regard to data structure improvements and information hiding). It is this latter nature that is directly associated with 4GL having errors that are harder, in many cases, to debug. In terms of applications, a 4GL could be business oriented or it could deal with some technical domain. Being further from the machine implies being closer to domain. Given the wide disparity of concepts and methods across domains, 4GL limitations lead to recognition of the need for the 5GL.[original research?]

The early input scheme for the 4GL supported entry of data within the 72-character limit of the punched card (8 bytes used for sequencing) where a card's tag would identify the type or function. With judicious use of a few cards, the 4GL deck could offer a wide variety of processing and reporting capability whereas the equivalent functionality coded in a 3GL could subsume, perhaps, a whole box or more of cards.[5]

The 72-character metaphor continued for a while as hardware progressed to larger memory and terminal interfaces. Even with its limitations, this approach supported highly sophisticated applications.

As interfaces improved and allowed longer statement lengths and grammar-driven input handling, greater power ensued. An example of this is described on the Nomad page.

Another example of Nomad's power is illustrated by Nicholas Rawlings in his comments for the Computer History Museum about NCSS (see citation below). He reports that James Martin asked Rawlings for a Nomad solution to a standard problem Martin called the Engineer's Problem: "give 6% raises to engineers whose job ratings had an average of 7 or better." Martin provided a "dozen pages of COBOL, and then just a page or two of Mark IV, from Informatics." Rawlings offered the following single statement, performing a set-at-a-time operation...

The development of the 4GL was influenced by several factors, with the hardware and operating system constraints having a large weight. When the 4GL was first introduced, a disparate mix of hardware and operating systems mandated custom application development support that was specific to the system in order to ensure sales. One example is the MAPPER system developed bySperry. Though it has roots back to the beginning, the system has proven successful in many applications and has been ported to modern platforms. The latest variant is embedded in the BIS [6] offering of UnisysMARK-IV is now known as VISION:BUILDER and is offered by Computer Associates.

Santa Fe railroad used MAPPER to develop a system, in a project that was an early example of 4GL, rapid prototyping, andprogramming by users.[7] The idea was that it was easier to teach railroad experts to use MAPPER than to teach programmers the "intricacies of railroad operations".[8]

One of the early (and portable) languages that had 4GL properties was Ramis developed by Gerald C. Cohen at Mathematica, a mathematical software company. Cohen left Mathematica and founded Information Builders to create a similar reporting-oriented 4GL, called FOCUS.

Later 4GL types are tied to a database system and are far different from the earlier types in their use of techniques and resources that have resulted from the general improvement of computing with time.

An interesting twist to the 4GL scene is realization that graphical interfaces and the related reasoning done by the user form a 'language' that is poorly understood.

[edit]Types

A number of different types of 4GLs exist:

  • Table-driven (codeless) programming, usually running with a runtime framework and libraries. Instead of using code, the developer defines his logic by selecting an operation in a pre-defined list of memory or data table manipulation commands. In other words, instead of coding, the developer uses Table-driven algorithm programming (See also control tables that can be used for this purpose). A good example of this type of 4GL language is PowerBuilder. These types of tools can be used for business application development usually consisting in a package allowing for both business data manipulation and reporting, therefore they come with GUI screens and report editors. They usually offer integration with lower level DLLs generated from a typical 3GL for when the need arise for more hardware/OS specific operations.
  • Report-generator programming languages take a description of the data format and the report to generate and from that they either generate the required report directly or they generate a program to generate the report. See also RPG
  • Similarly, forms generators manage online interactions with the application system users or generate programs to do so.
  • More ambitious 4GLs (sometimes termed fourth generation environments) attempt to automatically generate whole systems from the outputs of CASE tools, specifications of screens and reports, and possibly also the specification of some additional processing logic.
  • Data management 4GLs such as SASSPSS and Stata provide sophisticated coding commands for data manipulation, file reshaping, case selection and data documentation in the preparation of data for statistical analysis and reporting.

Some 4GLs have integrated tools which allow for the easy specification of all the required information:

Food poisoning

 caused by

 Possibly a bit of this;

This is Lactose Intolerance, which means the sugars in dairy (the milk) in the mcflurry didn't digest good in your guts, and it will cause your stomach pains, gas and the running to the toilet. if you notice this again, which I would try some at home and if this happens again you will know it is the dairy, so go to the store and get some Lataid pills you take them when you eat dairy and they work great and the generic brands of Lataid work just as good and the higher costing brands.

Most probably a bit of this

Listeria

This is a type of food poisoning which is caused by eating food that has been infected with the listeria bacteria. This is known as ‘listeriosis’.

Listeria poisoning affects a wide range of people but is especially problematic for pregnant women, newborn babies and people with a weakened or compromised immune system. This particularly applies to the over 60’s.

Listeria Monocytogenes

This is the name given to the bacteria which causes listeria food poisoning. These bacteria are rod shaped in appearance and is one of the most dangerous forms of pathogenic bacteria known to humans.

These bacteria are found in poultry, sheep, cattle, dairy foods, fruit and vegetables. They enter the body via the gastrointestinal tract and release toxins which damage cells within the body. It also spreads through the bloodstream where it particularly targets the nervous system.

However it is considered a rare form of food poisoning and one that is treatable. But, it is nevertheless, a serious type of food poisoning which is particularly dangerous for pregnant women, the elderly and anyone with poor immunity.

Foods which contain the listeria bacteria

These bacteria are usually found in soft cheeses such as Brie or Camembert but it also appears in the following foods:

  • Pates
  • Butter
  • Ice cream
  • Sliced meats
  • Poultry, e.g. cooked chicken
  • Smoked salmon (packaged)
  • Packaged sandwiches
  • Unpasteurised milk
  • Canned fish
  • Unwashed fruit and vegetables

Listeria is a tough, durable type of bacteria which can resist extremes of temperature much better than other bacteria. It even thrives at temperatures of minus 24 Fahrenheit which means that it is able to survive refrigeration.

Refrigeration usually kills off most strains of bacteria but listeria appears to have a stronger than normal survival instinct in this respect.

Causes of listeria food poisoning

Listeria is caused by consuming food which has been contaminated by the listeria monocytogenes bacteria. These bacteria invade cells within the lining of the intestinal walls and releases toxins which cause an infection.

These bacteria are able to travel throughout the body but are particularly attracted to the nervous system. This leads to a range of health problems such as meningitis and septicaemia.

These bacteria are found in a variety of foods which include processed ready meals, side salads such as coleslaw (mixed vegetables in mayonnaise), cooked poultry and canned fish.

But one of the biggest high risk foods is soft cheese. These include Brie, Camembert, Ricotta and Feta and have been highlighted as one of the main causes of listeria food poisoning.

Symptoms of listeria food poisoning

The time between the consumption of the contaminated food and the appearance of the first symptoms is known as the ‘incubation period’.

With listeria, the symptoms take much longer to appear than with most other types of bacteria. In fact, it can be 8 weeks before the symptoms develop.

But, symptoms usually appear after a month which appears to be the average.

The symptoms start off as relatively mild but soon worsen once the immune system has been infected. They include:

  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Muscle aches and pains
  • Tiredness
  • Loss of appetite

These are the initial symptoms of listeriosis and in many ways will feel like a bad case of ‘the flu’.

But if the infection has affected the immune system it will cause the following symptoms:

  • Poor balance
  • Lack of co-ordination
  • Severe headaches
  • Stiff neck
  • Seizures
  • Confusion

Meningitis or septicemia is likely to develop if the infection has spread to the brain or throughout the bloodstream.

Listeria food poisoning and pregnancy

The group of people who are at a very high risk of listeriosis are pregnant women.

If a women contracts listeria food poisoning during her pregnancy then she will experience the symptoms mentioned above but these may be relatively mild.

However, the risks to the unborn baby are anything but mild.

These bacteria are able to transfer from the mother to the baby via the placenta or at birth. If this happens they will enter the baby’s bloodstream and once there, will cause a serious infection.

This will result in either a stillborn baby or a miscarriage.

Pregnant women appear to be a greater risk of listeria food poisoning than other women which means that they need to take greater care about what they eat and food safety in general.

This is covered in more detail in our pregnancy and food poisoning section.

Other high risk groups and listeria food poisoning

These include people who have undergone a transplant; cancer treatment, e.g. chemotherapy; who suffer from HIV or AIDS or have kidney or liver disease. This is because their immune systems are less effective at fighting off bacteria which cause infections such as listeriosis.

People in any of these groups are more likely to develop a serious form of this illness and/or complications.

Diagnosing listeria food poisoning

Contact your GP if you have developed symptoms of this illness within the last month or two. Do this if you are in a high risk group, for example, you suffer from diabetes.

A blood test can detect the symptoms of listeria food poisoning. Another equally useful test is a spinal fluid test.

If you are pregnant then your GP will perform a blood test to check for signs of this illness.

Treatment for listeria food poisoning

Listeriosis can be treated with antibiotics. If this food poisoning has occurred during pregnancy then antibiotics will be given to the mother as soon as possible to prevent the risk of the infection spreading to the unborn baby.

Antibiotics are also prescribed if a newborn baby exhibits these symptoms although it may be given a different type or combination compared to an adult.

Preventing listeria food poisoning

There are a few measures you can take to avoid the risk of you contracting this form of food poisoning. These are especially important if you are pregnant or have a poorly functioning immune system.

They include:

  • Avoid eating canned meats and meat based products such as ham, luncheon meat and hot dog sausages.
  • Avoid soft cheeses such as Brie unless you know that they have been produced from pasteurised milk.
  • Avoid canned fish or pates.
  • Wipe kitchen surfaces, utensils and containers after use.
  • Store raw and cooked food separately

These will reduce the risk of listeriosis.

9 Conditions of the Shahadah (Details) by Jamal Zarabozo

Bottom of Form

The Prerequisites of the Declaration of Faith
al-Basheer Magazine (Vol. 7, no. 5, Jan-Feb ’94)

Every Muslim knows that the key to Paradise is the statement, “There is none worthy of worship except Allaah.” Yet too many Muslims simply rely upon this statement and believe that as long as they have made this statement, nothing will harm them. They think they will be granted Paradise because of this mere verbal statement of the Shahadah. There is no question that the mere saying of,” I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger,” is not sufficient for salvation. In fact, the hypocrites used to make this statement quite often yet Allaah describes them as liars and says that they shall abide in the lowest abyss of the Hell-fire.

As many scholars state, though, this statement or testimony is the key to Paradise. The famous follower Wahb ibn Munabbih was once asked, ” Isn’t the statement of la ilaha illa-llah the key to Paradise?” He answered, “Yes, but every key has ridges. If you come with the key that has the right ridges, the door will open for you. Yet if you do not have the right ridges the door will not open for you.” That is, the statement must meet certain conditions. These conditions are what will differentiate the person who will benefit from his making of that statement from the one who will not benefit from that statement, no matter how many times a day he may have made that statement.

Before discussing the conditions of the Shahadah, there is one more point that I feel compelled to make. That is, some people have a tendency to take one hadeeth or one verse and then based on that one text, they will make some conclusion that, for example, whoever simply says,” There is no God except Allaah,” will enter Paradise. But, actually, we should all realise that all of the Quraan and Hadeeth complement each other and explain one another. To find the correct position on any one question, one must bring together all of the related verses and hadeeth and see what the true Islaamic position is of that question. The same is true for the conditions of the shahadah.

If we study the verses of the Quraan and the Hadeeth of the Prophet (peace be upon him), we will find that the conditions of the shahadah are seven, eight or nine in number depending on how we look at them. It is important that all of us make sure that we are meeting these conditions in our own lives and in our own testimony of faith. We must do our best to satisfy these conditions before it is too late and our testimony will be of no avail whatsoever. It is not simply for the sake of teaching these conditions, indeed there is no benefit to that. But it is, instead, for all of us to look to ourselves and to make sure that we are actually meeting these conditions so that, by Allaah’s mercy, the doors to Paradise will be open for us by our key of la ilaha illa-llah.

1)  KNOWLEDGE.

The FIRST of these condition is KNOWLEDGE. That is, one must have the basic and general knowledge of what is meant by the shahadah. One must understand what the shahadah is affirming and what the shahadah is denying. Allaah says in the Quraan,

“So know that there is no God save Allaah, and ask forgiveness for your sin” (Muhammad : 19)

Similarly, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever dies knowing that there is no one worthy of worship except Allaah shall enter Paradise.” (Recorded by Muslim). In fact, the shahadah itself is a testimony. When one testifies to something, one must know what it is that he is testifying concerns. Obviously, a testimony about something that one does not have any knowledge about is absolutely unacceptable. Allaah says in the Quraan,

“Save him who bears witness unto the truth knowingly” (al-Zukhruf : 86).

Now this condition probably sounds obvious; if someone said to you, “There is no God except Allaah,” and then said that what he meant by Allaah was Jesus, you would immediately tell him that this shahadah is nonsense. Yet can you imagine that there is a Muslim country in the world that until recently used to have a yearly week-long celebration to “the Gods of the Sea”! All along they call themselves Muslims and they make the shahadah numerous times a day. This clearly shows that they have no idea what the meaning of their shahadah is. Do you think that this kind of shahadah will open the doors to Paradise for them? Today, there are many Muslims who wonder why we should not accept secularism. They think that there is nothing wrong with secularism! Many of these Muslims pray five times a day and utter the shahadah repeatedly. Yet they see nothing wrong with accepting a Lawgiver other than Allaah? What kind of shahadah are these people making?

All of us do our best to learn at least the basics of Islaamic beliefs, the basics of what shahadah means. In this way, Allaah willing, we will be making the correct shahadah. We will be witnessing to the truth as we are supposed to be witnesses to it.

2) CERTAINTY

The SECOND condition of the shahadah is CERTAINTY (or al-yaqeen). This is the opposite of doubt and uncertainty. In Islaam, in fact, any kind of doubt is equivalent to Kufr or disbelief. We must, in our hearts, be absolutely certain of the truth of the shahadah. Our hearts must not be wavering in any way when we testify to the truth of, “There is none worthy of worship except Allaah.” Allaah describes the believers in the Quraan as those who have belief in Allaah and then their hearts waver not. Allaah says,

“the (true) believers are those only who believe in Allaah and His messenger and afterward doubt not, but strive with their wealth and their lives for the cause of Allaah. Such are the sincere” (al-Hujuraat : 15)

Similarly, the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said, “No one meets Allaah with the testimony that there is none worthy of worship but Allaah and I am the Messenger of Allaah, and he has no doubt about hat statement, except that he will enter Paradise.” (Recorded by Muslim.) Indeed, Allaah describes the hypocrites as those people whose hearts are wavering. For example, Allaah says,

“They alone seek leave of thee (not to participate in jihad) who believe not in Allaah and the Last Day and whose hearts feel doubt, so in their doubt they waver” (al-Tauba : 45).

Many scholars have stated that the diseases of the heart, or the doubt and suspicions that one allows into one’s heart, are more dangerous for a person’s faith than lusts and desires. This is because lusts and desires may be satisfied at some time yet the person still knows them to be wrong and he may control himself and repent and give up that evil deed. On the other hand, the doubts and suspicions may linger in the heart, with no cure, until the person finally leaves Islaam entirely or continues to practice Islaam while, in fact, in his heart he does not have the true faith. The greatest cure for these doubts is seeking knowledge. It is through sound knowledge of the Quraan and the sunnah that most of these doubts will be removed. By study and understanding, one will attain certainty. And as one studies and learns more, his certainty will be made firmer and firmer. I will give you just one example on this point; this is related to all of the doubts, suspicions and misconceptions that are circulating about the authenticity of the hadeeth literature. For example, some Muslims even claim that hadeeth were not recorded until at least 200 years after the death of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Indeed, there are Muslims who seem to have a great deal of doubt about hadeeth and very quick to reject hadeeth on that basis. But, in fact, if one actually takes the time to study the history and preservation of hadeeth, one will immediately recognise that all those claims and charges against the hadeeth are not based on anything scientific whatsoever. They are nothing but false claims that come from Satan and which Muslims with poor understanding and knowledge have allowed to creep into their hearts. Let me make one last point about this condition of certainty. As I alluded to earlier, doubts and misconceptions are very dangerous for a person’s faith. Doubt and wavering are tantamount to apostasy in Islaam, as I mentioned earlier. Hence, every Muslim should do best to safeguard himself from such doubts and remain away from the sources of doubts- especially if they are not well grounded in the Islaamic sciences and do not have the knowledge to refute such doubts and misconceptions. Hence if a person has an associate or friend, even if he be a Muslim friend, who is always making him doubt Allaah or the religion, then he should remain away from that person in order to safeguard his own religion. Many Muslims nowadays study courses on Islaam taught by Orientalists and because of their weak backgrounds in Islaamic studies, they are influenced by the nonsense that some of these Orientalists are teaching in the name of “science”. Similarly, many brothers and sisters nowadays are spending hours at a time with the computer news groups and bulletin boards. A lot of nonsense and falsehood are posted on those news groups and bulletin boards. Again, the one who is not very knowledgeable of his religion may easily be influenced and affected by the misconceptions and false arguments that he reads in those bulletin boards. He should remain away from those things and get a deeper knowledge of Islaam through the authentic sources of the religion. Again, the greatest counterforce that can defeat doubts and misconceptions, after the bounty and guidance of Allaah, is sound knowledge and understanding of the religion. When a person has that, he will not be affected by the weak arguments put out by the enemies of Islaam and he will be, Allaah willing, from among those described in the Quraan,

“It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allaah” (Faatir : 28)

3) ACCEPTANCE

The THIRD condition of the shahadah is ACCEPTANCE (or al-qabool). If a person has knowledge of and certainty in the shahadah, this must be followed by acceptance, with the tongue and heart, of whatever that shahadah implies. Whoever refuses to accept the shahadah and its implications, even if he knows that it is true and certain about its truth, than he is a disbeliever. This refusal to accept is sometimes due to pride, envy or other reasons. In any case, the shahadah is not a true shahadah without its unconditional acceptance. The scholars all talk about this condition as a general condition in the way that I have just stated. However, there is also a more detailed aspect that we must all be aware of. The believer accepts whatever the implications of the shahadah are. This also means that he believes in whatever is stated in the Quraan or stated by the Prophet (peace be upon him), without any right to choose what he wants to believe and what he wants to reject. Allaah says in the Quraan,

“Do you believe in part of the book and reject part of it? And what is the reward of those who do so save ignominy in the life of the world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be consigned to the most grievous doom” (al-Baqara : 85)

This is one aspect that the Muslims must be aware of. Although it is not the same as the complete refusal to accept the truth, by rejecting part of the truth that has come from Allaah, one also negates his testimony of faith. Unfortunately, many Muslims are doing this nowadays in various ways. Although not all of these forms may necessarily be considered apostasy, they are still very dangerous. For example, if they do not like what is stated in a verse in the Quraan, they simply reinterpret the verse according to their liking. If they do not like what is stated in a hadeeth, they simply state that the hadeeth must not be authentic although they are not scholars in that area. This kind of behaviour is the antithesis of the behaviour of the true Muslims. Whatever comes from Allaah and His Messenger (peace be upon him), the true Muslim believes in as the truth. This goes hand in hand with their testimony of faith.

4) SUBMISSION and COMPLIANCE

The FOURTH condition of the shahadah is SUBMISSION and COMPLIANCE (or al-inqiyad). This implies the actual physical enactment with our deeds of our shahadah. In fact, this is one of the main meanings of the word Islaam itself, “the submission to the will and commands of Allaah.” This is what Allaah commands in the Quraan,

“Turn unto Him repentant, and surrender unto Him” (al-Zumar : 54).

Allaah has praised those who submit to His command by their actions. Allaah says,

“Who is better in religion than he who surrenders his purpose to Allaah while doing good” (al-Nisa : 125).

Actually, Allaah has clearly made it a condition of faith that one submits to the command of Allaah and His messenger. Allaah says,

“But nay, by your Lord, they will not truly believe until they make you [the Messenger of Allaah] judge of what is in dispute between them and find within themselves no dislike of which you decide, and submit with full submission” (al-Nisa : 65)

Unfortunately, there are many who claim that there is no relationship between faith and deeds. You can even hear one Muslim saying about another, “That is the best Muslim I have ever met,” yet the other person performs scarcely any of the deeds of Islaam whatsoever. This incorrect understanding of faith has spread throughout the Muslim world. Indeed, our shahadah or testimony of faith must be implemented or realised in our hearts, tongues and actions. In our hearts, we must have love for Allaah, fear Allaah and hope in Him. With our tongues we must testify to the shahadah. And with our actions, we must implement what the testimony of faith requires from us. Anyone who claims to be a Muslim and yet does no deeds, either does not understand Islaam whatsoever or is bearing testimony against himself that his testimony of faith is not a true and correct testimony of faith. This does not mean that the true believer never commits a sin. Indeed, true believers do commit sins, but as long as they recognise that what they did is not correct and it is inconsistent with their obligation of submitting to Allaah, then they have not violated the soundness of their testimony or shahadah. But do not forget, they are still sinners. And what is the minimum of submission that is required from a person beyond which there can be no claim to faith? For those scholars who say that the abandonment of prayers is infidelity, it is the five daily prayers. Whoever does not perform, at least, the five daily prayers has gone beyond the limit that is acceptable for lack of deeds. Allaah knows best.

5) TRUTHFULNESS

The FIFTH condition is TRUTHFULNESS (or as-sidq), as opposed to hypocrisy and dishonesty. This means that when we say the shahadah, we are saying it honestly. We actually mean it. We are not lying when it comes to our testimony of faith. The Prophet (peace be upon his) said, “No one bears testimony to there being no one worth of worship save Allaah, sincerely from his heart, except that Allaah makes the Hell-fire forbidden for him.” (Recorded by al-Bukharee and Muslim.) We are all familiar with those who say the testimony of faith yet they are not saying it honestly. They do not believe in it but they are simply saying it in order to protect themselves or to get some gain from doing so; these are the hypocrites. Allaah has described them in the opening of the Quraan with the following words,

“And of mankind are some who say, ‘We believe in Allaah and the Last Day,’ when they believe not. They think to beguile Allaah and those who believe, and they beguile none save themselves, but they perceive not. In their hearts is a disease, and Allaah increases their disease. A painful doom is theirs because they lie” (al-Baqara 8-10).

Obviously, the shahadah of those who become Muslims simply to benefit from being Muslim and not because they believe in Islaam will be rejected by Allaah in the Hereafter. They will face a painful punishment due to their lying.

6) SINCERITY

The SIXTH condition is SINCERITY (or al-ikhlaas). That is, when we make the shahadah, we must do so solely for the sake of Allaah. We must not do it for any other reason. And we must not do it for anyone else’s sake. In this manner, the meaning of sincerity is opposite of Shirk or ascribing partners with Allaah. We became and remain Muslims solely for Allaah’s sake. Allaah says in the Quraan,

“Worship Allaah, making religion pure for him” (al-Zumar : 2).

And Allaah also says,

“And they are ordained not else than to serve Allaah, keeping religion pure for Him, as men by nature upright and to establish worship and to pay the poor-due. That is true religion” (al-Bayyinah : 5)

And the Prophet (peace be upon him) added, “Allaah has forbidden for the Hell-fire anyone who says, ‘There is no one worthy of worship except Allaah,’ and say so desiring the face [and pleasure] of Allaah.” (Recorded by Muslim). This is something that we should all think about, especially those of us who grew up in Muslim families and were born Muslim. We should make it very clear to ourselves that we are Muslims only for the sake of Allaah. We are not Muslims for the sake of our parents, friends, family or community. It must be clear in our minds that we are Muslims for the sake of Allaah first, last and only. One of the signs that we are Muslims for the sake of Allaah is that we do whatever Allaah asks of us, regardless of what anybody else desires or wants from us. That is, in the same way that we are Muslims solely for the sake of Allaah, all of our actions are done for the sake of Allaah. However, sometimes one begins to wonder whether this condition is met by some people. Some people from the Muslim world practice Islaam to the extent that it is pleasing to their families. If there is anything in Islaam that their families do not like- although their families are Muslim and therefore they actually should like all of Islaam- then they do not practice that aspect of Islaam. One common example of that nature is mixing between men and women. Sometimes a brother, here in the U.S., will not mix with women and his wife will remain separate from the men. Yet, when they return to their homes, because this is not pleasing to their families who want to mix between men and women, they easily, simply and happily compromise their religion for the sake of their parents. These people must sincerely ask themselves why they are Muslims. Are they Muslims for the sake of their parents and therefore whatever their parents like they will do and whatever their parents do not like they won’t do? Or are they Muslims for the sake of Allaah and therefore whatever Allaah dislikes they will not do and whatever Allaah is pleased with they do?

7) LOVE

The SEVENTH condition is LOVE (or al-mahabbah). That is, the believer loves this shahadah, he loves in accordance with the shahadah, he loves the implications and requirements of the shahadah and he loves those who act and strive for the sake of this shahadah. This is a necessary condition of the shahadah. If a person makes the shahadah but does not love the shahadah and what it stands for, then, in fact, his faith is not complete. It is not the faith of a true believer. And if he loves something more that this shahadah or if he loves something more than Allaah, then he has negated his shahadah. The true believer, the one meeting the conditions of the shahadah puts no one whatsoever as an equal to Allaah in his love. Allaah says in the Quraan,

“Yet of mankind are some who take unto themselves (objects of worship which they set as) rivals to Allaah, loving them with a love like (that which is due to) Allaah only. However, those who believe are stauncher in their love of Allaah” (al-Baqara : 165).

And elsewhere Allaah says

“Say: If your fathers, or your sons, or your brethren, or your wives, or your tribe, or the wealth you have acquired, or merchandise for which you fear that there will be no sale, or dwellings you desire are dearer to you than Allaah and His Messenger and striving in His way: then wait till Allaah brings His command to pass. Allaah guides not wrongdoing folk” (al-Tauba : 24).

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever has three characteristics has tasted the sweetness of faith. [The first of these] is that he loves Allaah and His Messenger more than he loves anyone else…” (Recorded by al-Bukharee and Muslim.). This is one of the most important aspects of Islaam yet, for some reason, it is missing from the lives of many Muslims. They act in Islaam as if Islaam were a chore instead of doing things out of the love of Allaah. When Allaah orders us to do something, like bear witness to the faith, we should realise that that thing is pleasing to Allaah and, therefore, out of our love for Allaah, we should be very pleased to do the acts that are pleasing to Allaah. But, as I said, this feeling is missing from many, many Muslims today.

8) DENY EVERY OTHER OBJECT OF WORSHIP

The EIGHTH condition of the shahadah is that the person who makes the shahadah must DENY EVERY OTHER OBJECT OF WORSHIP. Although that is clear in the words of the testimony of faith, it does not seem clear to everyone who makes that testimony. Therefore, I am mentioning it explicitly here. In Surah al-Baqara, Allaah clearly reminds us of this important aspect of the shahadah, the shahadah is not merely an affirmation but it is both and affirmation and a negation. Allaah states,

And he who rejects false deities and believes in Allaah has grasped a firm handhold which will never break” (al-Baqara : 256).

Perhaps the Prophet (peace be upon him) made this point even clearer when he said, “Whoever says there is no one worthy of worship except Allaah and denies whatever is worshipped besides Allaah, then his wealth and blood are protected and his accounting will be with Allaah.” (Recorded by Muslim). Although this condition should be obvious to everyone who says the words of shahadah, you can still find Muslims who say the shahadah and then make acts of worship for beings or things other than Allaah. You will find them going to the graveyards and worshipping those in the graves. They will perform acts of worship, not for the sake of Allaah, but for the sake of the dead “saints” in the grave. What kind of shahadah have these people made? Do you really think that their shahadah will mean anything on the Day of Judgement as long as they believe that acts of worship may be done for other than Allaah?

9) ADHERES

The NINTH condition of the shahadah is that the Muslim ADHERES to the shahadah until he dies. This is a must if the shahadah is to mean anything for you in the Hereafter. You cannot rest on your laurels of what you may have done in the past. No, indeed, the shahadah must be your banner until your death. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “A man spends a long time doing the deeds of the people of Paradise and then he ends his deeds with the deeds of the people of the Hell-fire. And a man spends a long time doing the deeds of the people of the Hell-fire and then he ends his deeds with the deeds of the people of Paradise.” (Recorded by Muslim) In another hadeeth, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “By the One whom there is no other God, one of you does the actions of Paradise until there is just a handspan between him and Paradise and then the book [preordainment] overtakes him and he does the actions of the people of Hell and he enters into it” (Recorded by al-Bukharee and Muslim.) And Allaah says in the Quraan,

“O believers, observe your duty to Allaah with right observance, and die not save as Muslims [surrendering yourselves to Allaah]” (al-Imran : 102).

Dear brothers and sisters, these are the conditions of the shahadah. These are the aspects of the shahadah that each and every one of us should look to in ourselves and ask ourselves, “Is my shahadah meeting those requirements? Am I saying it sincerely, honestly and out of love for Allaah? Am I saying it based on what it really means? Am I denying all other false objects of worship?…”

These questions we should ask ourselves now before we meet Allaah. Allaah willing, we shall ask ourselves these questions now and we shall find that we have all the right answers for them. Or, if we find we have some deficiency, we shall work to remove that deficiency. Such that, by Allaah’s mercy, in the Hereafter, our shahadah will be the key to Paradise for us and the gates of Paradise will swing wide open for us and we will be able to live forever in the bounties of Paradise, with Allaah being pleased with us.

Again, it is not simply a matter of knowing these conditions. Indeed, one can meet many Muslims who have these conditions memorised, yet when one looks to their deeds and behaviour, one can see that these conditions have no effect on them. This means, in fact, no matter how well he knows and can rattle off these conditions, he, in fact, is not fulfilling them. In the Hereafter, his knowledge of these conditions will be of no avail to him. Indeed, his knowledge will be a proof against him as he clearly knows what the conditions are that he must satisfy yet he has shown that he is not willing to satisfy them in his life.

What is Benchmarking

Benchmarking is the process of determining who is the very best, who sets the standard, and what that standard is.We do this in business. Who is the best sales organization? The most responsive customer service department? The leanest manufacturing operation? And how do we quantify that standard? If you don't know what the standard is you cannot compare yourself against it.

The Amazing Patience of the Prophet Ayub (Job)

by Ibn Kathîr

Ibn Ishaaq stated that, his names was Ayub Ibn Mose Ibn Razeh Ibn Esau Ibn Isaac Ibn Abraham. Someone else said he was Ayub Ibn Mose, Ibn Rimil Ibn Esau Ibn Isaac Ibn Jacob. There have also been other statements in his lineage. Ibn Asaker narrated that his mother was a daughter of Prophet Lut.It was said, also, that his father was one who believed in Abraham when he was cast into the fire.

The first opinion is the most plausable as he was a descendant of Abrahams offspring as Allah Almighty declared:

"That was the reasoning about us which We gave to Abraham (to use) against his people: We raise whom We will degree after degree: for thy Lord is full of wisdom and knowledge. We gave him Isaac and Jacob: all (three) We guided: and before him We guided Noah and before him We guided Noah and among his progeny David Solomon Ayub Joseph Moses and Aaron: thus do We reward those who do good" Quran 6:83-84

Allah the Almighty praised His worshipper Ayub in His Glorious Quran:

"Truly! We found him patient. How excellent a slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance to Us" Quran 38:44

Ayub was repentant, remembering Allah with thankfulness, patience and steadfastness. This was the cause of his rescue and the secret of Allah's praising him.

A group of angels were discussing Allah's other human creatures, how those who were humble earned Allah's displease, while those who were arrogant incurred His displeasure. One of the angels remarked:

"The best creature on earth today is Ayub, a man of noble character who displays excellent patience and always remembers his Generous Lord. He is an excellent model for the worshippers of Allah. In return, his Lord has blessed him with a long life and plenty of riches, yet he is never haughty or selfish. His family, his servants, as well as the needy and the poor share in his good fortune; he feeds and clothes the poor and buys slaves to set them free. He makes those who receive his charity feel as if they are favouring him, so kind and gentle is he."

Iblis, overhearing all this, became annoyed. He planned to tempt Ayub to corruption and disbelief, so he hastened to him. He tried to distract Ayub from his prayers by whispering to him about the good things in life, but Ayub was a true believer and would not let evil thoughts tempt him. This disturbed Iblis more; thus he began to hate Ayub even more.

Iblis complained to Allah about Ayub. He said that although he was continuously glorifying Allah, he was not doing so out of his sincerity but to satisfy Allah so that his wealth should not be taken away. It was all a show, all out of greed. "If You remove his wealth then You will find that his tongue will no longer mention Your name and his praying will stop."

Allah told Iblis that Ayub was one of His most sincere devotees. He did not worship Him because of the favors; his worship stemmed from his heart and had nothing to do with material things. But to prove Iblis the depth of Ayub' s sincerity and patience, Allah allowed him to do whatever he and his helpers wished with Ayub's wealth.

Iblis was very happy. He gathered his helpers and set about destroying Ayub's cattle, servants, and farms until he was left with no possessions. Rubbing his hands in glee, Iblis appeared before Ayub in the guise of a wise old man and said to him:

"All your wealth is lost. Some people say that it is because you gave too much charity and that you are wasting your time with your continuous prayers to Allah. Others say that Allah has bought this upon you in order to please your enemies. If Allah had the capacity to prevent harm, then He would have protected your wealth"

True to his belief, Ayub replied:

"What Allah has taken away from me belongs to Him. I was only its trustee for a while. He gives to whom He wills and withholds from whom He wills"

With these words, Ayub again prostrated to his Lord.

When Iblis saw this, he felt frustrated, so he again addressed Allah:

"I have stripped Ayub of all his possessions, but he still remains grateful to You. However, he is only hiding his disappointment, for he places great store by his many children. The real test of a parent is through him children. You will then see how Ayub will reject You"

Allah granted Iblis authority, but warned him that it would not reduce Ayub's faith in his Lord nor his patience.

Iblis again gathered his helpers and set about his evil deeds. He shook the foundation of the house in which Ayub's children were living and sent the building crashing, killing all of them. Then he went to Ayub disguised as a man who had come to sympathize with him. In a comforting tone he said to Ayub:

"The circumstances under which your children died were sad. Surely, your Lord is not rewarding you properly for all your prayers?"

Having said this Iblis waited anxiously, hoping Ayub was now ready to reject Allah. But again Ayub disappointed him by replying:

"Allah sometimes gives and sometimes takes. He is sometimes pleased and sometimes displeased with our deeds. Whether a thing is beneficial or harmful to me, I will remain firm in my belief and remain thankful to my Creator"

Then Ayub prostrated to his Lord. At this Iblis was extremely vexed. Iblis again called on Allah:

"O my Lord, Ayub's wealth is gone, his children are dead, but he is still healthy in body, and as long as he enjoys good health he will continue to worship You in the hope of regaining his wealth and producing more children. Grant me authority over his body so that I may weaken it. He will surely neglect worshipping You and withh thus becomes disobedient"

Allah wanted to teach Iblis a lesson that Ayub was a devoted servant of his Lord, so He granted Iblis his third request but placed a condition:

"I give you authority over his body but not over his soul, intellect, or heart, for in these places reside the knowledge of Me and My religion"

Armed with this new authority, Iblis began to take revenge on Ayub's body and filled it with disease until it was reduced to mere skin and bone and he suffered severe pain. But through all the suffering Ayub remained string in his faith, patiently bearing all the hardships without complaining. Allah's righteous servant did not despair or turn to others for help but remained hopeful of Allah's Mercy. Even close relatives and friends deserted him. Only his kind loving wife stayed with him. In his hour of need, she showered her kindness on him and cared for him. She remained his sole companion and comforter through many years of his suffering.

Ibn Asaker narrated: "Ayub was a man having much wealth of all kinds: beasts, slaves, sheep, vast lands of Haran and many children. All those favors were taken from him and he was physically afflicted as well. Never a single organ was sound except his heart and tongue, with both of which he glorified Allah, the Almighty all the time day and night. His disease lasted for a long time until his visitors felt disgusted with him. His friend kept away from him, and people abstained from visiting him. No one felt sympathy for him except his wife. She took good care of him, knowing his former charity and pity for her"

Therefore, Iblis became desperate. He consulted his helpers but they could not advise him. They asked:

"How is it that your cleverness cannot work against Ayub, yet you succeeded in misleading Adam, the father of man, out of paradise?"

Iblis went to Ayub's wife in the form of a man. "Where is your husband?" he asked her.

She pointed to an almost lifeless form crumpled on the bed and said: "There he is, suspended between life and death."

Iblis reminded her of the days when Ayub had good health, wealth and children. Suddenly, the painful memory of yeas of hardship overcame her, and she burst into tears. She said to Ayub:

"How long are you going to bear this torture from our Lord? Are we to remain without wealth, children or friends forever? Why don't you call upon Allah to remove this suffering?"

Ayub sighed, and in a soft voice replied:

"Iblis must have whispered to you and made you dissatisfied. Tell me, how long did I enjoy good health and riches?"

She replied, "For eighty years"

Then Ayub asked, "How long am I suffering like this?"

She said, "for seven years"

Then Ayub told her:

"In that case I am ashamed to call on my Lord to remove the hardship, for I have not suffered longer than the years of good health and plenty. It seems your faith has weakened and you are dissatisfied with the fate of Allah. If I ever again health, I swear I will punish you with a hundred strokes! From this day onward, I forbid myself to eat or drink anything from your hand. Leave me alone and let my Lord do with me as He pleases."

Crying bitterly and with a heavy heart, she had no choice but to leave him and seek shelter elsewhere. In his helpless state, Ayub turned to Allah, notto complain but to seek His mercy:

"Verily, dsitress has seized me, and You and the Most Merciful of all those who show Mercy. So We answered his call, and We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his family to him (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them - as a mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all who whorship Us" Quran 21:83-84

Almighty Allah also instructed:

"Commemorate Our servant Ayub behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering"! (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash cool and refreshing and (water) to drink." And We gave him (back) his people and doubled their number as a Grace from Ourselves and a thing for commemoration for all who have Understanding." Quran 38:41-43

Ayub obeyed, and almost immediately his good health was restored. Meanwhile, his faithful wife could no longer bear to be parted from her husband and returned to beg his forgiveness, desiring to serve him. On entering he house, she was amazed at the sudden change: Ayub was again healthy! She embraced him and thanked Allah for His mercy.

Ayub was now worried, for he had taken an oath to punish her with a hundred strokes if he regained health, but he had no desire to hurt her. He knew if he did not fulfill the oath, he would be guilty of breaking a promise to Allah. Therefore, in His wisdom and mercy, Allah came to the assistance of His faithful servant, and advised him: .

"And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly we found him patient. How excellent a slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance to Us"Quran 38:44

Abu Huraira (ra) narrated that the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) said:

"While Ayub was naked, taking a bath, a swarm of locusts fell on him, and he started collecting them in his garment. His Lord called him: 'O Ayub! Have I not made you too rich to need what you see?' He said: 'Yes, O Lord! But I cannot shun Your Blessings" (Bukhari)

The story of Ayub should be a constant reminder for us all. We should read this story often just to remind ourselves. Many of us complain about the little things in life. Allah tested Ayub in ways that we can really relate to. His faith and patience is something that we as true believing Muslims should try and implement in our lives, when Allah tests us in these situations. In the Quraan Allah says,

"Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft returning in repentance (to us)." [Quran:38:4].

During these times we must remember Allah more, pray harder, and be more thankful instead of being dissatisfied with our condition. We should praise and thank Allah for every condition that he tests us with. As we know these are the times when Satan tries to work on us the most by playing with our minds, emotions, and weaknesses. Allah would never forget to reward a servant for such a great task.

"And (remember) Ayub when he cried to his Lord: Verily, distress has seized me and you are the Most Merciful of all who show mercy." [Quraan:21:83]

"So We answered his call, and We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his family to him (that he had lost), and the like thereof along with them, as a mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all those who worship us." [Quraan:21:84]

May Allah give us the faith and the patience when we are tested. Ameen.

The following information is now dated.

Economic trends

3 main economic trends in the local area affect business and consumer confidence:

  1. Employment – when employment rates are high people are confident about their future. If unemployment is high more people are out of work and their disposable income falls. When income falls people have to cut down on their spending and as a result they spend less on goods and services provided by a business.

When spending on goods and services fall the revenue and profit of the business falls as well.

When the business revenue and profit falls some business may no longer be able to trade, they have to close down which create more unemployment.

When unemployment increases, this will have a greater impact on some businesses than others. For example if a person loses their job they are still required to make payments on their rent or mortgage, buy food etc. so these businesses will suffer less than businesses such as restaurants, holiday companies.

Also when unemployment is high workers may work for a lower wage and businesses may be able to make savings as they are paying them less money.

  1. Income- if consumers have to pay higher income TAX and VAT they will have less money to spend; this will affect local businesses because consumers will not be able to spend as much and sales will be reduced.
  2. Growth- if businesses and sectors are growing this will encourage more employment and people will have more money to spend. Businesses should benefit because sales will go up.

Legal framework

The way in which a business can operate is controlled by legislation. Laws can be imposed by either the United Kingdom or the European Union courts and Government. The Legislation act as a constraint for the business.

The main areas of legislation that affect businesses are;

  1. Employment law
  2. Consumer protection
  3. Competition law

Employment law

This law is aimed at protecting the health, safety and rights of the employees.

The main employment laws that a business needs to consider for example are:

  1. 1.      Health and Safety at Work Act

Employers must provide safe premises, machinery and ensure that their employees’ health is not affected by their work.

The costs and benefits of the Health and Safety at Work Act for a business are

  1. It adds a cost to the business as they need to train staff members and spend money maintaining the standards set out.
  2. Having a good health and safety record will encourage recruitment of good workers.

  1. 2.      The National Minimum Wage Act 1998

Consumer Protection

This makes sure that the businesses act fairly towards the consumers. The main consumer protection legislation is:

Sale and Supply of Goods Act which states that goods must be of satisfactory quality)

Consumer Credit Act which protects the consumer when borrowing money or buying on credit.

Competition law ensures that fair competition takes place in each industry. Governments believe that greater competition leads to lower prices, better quality goods and a wider variety of products.

Markets

All Businesses operate within a market. A market contains different types of consumers who need to buy certain of goods and services. Businesses must complete market research to work out what is the right market for their products and services.

The three main sectorsof business activity.

1)   Primary sector

2)   Secondary sector

3)   Tertiary sector

Primary sectors:

The primary sector involves the conversion of natural resources into primary products. Products from this sector are used as raw materials in other industries. Businesses in this sector include agriculture, fishing, forestry and all mining and quarrying industries.

Secondary sector

The secondary sector of industry is also known as the manufacturing sector. This sector takes the output of the primary sector and manufactures finished goods or products to a point where they are suitable for use by other businesses, or for export or for sale to domestic consumers.

Tertiary sector

The tertiary sector involves providing services, either at a personal or a commercial level. Personal services include professions such as doctors and teachers.. Commercial services aim to assist businesses and include banking and accountancy and services.

The table above shows there is a low proportion of people working in the primary and secondary industry. The reasons for the reduction in the number of people employed in the primary and secondary are due to the fact that machinery has taken over jobs that were done manually and it is now cheaper to buy raw materials and manufactured goods from abroad.

Most of the manufacturing is now taking place abroad in less developed countries where the raw material is cheaper and employees are paid less money than those in more developed countries.

The tertiary sector is now the main growth sector. Business, Finance, communication (mobile phones), education, health and computing and tourism services are growing.  These services employ the largest number of workers in the UK.

The role of government in creating the business climate

Businesses are affected by government actions such as:

Taxation affects business costs.

Interest rates -   The interest rates are determined by a government. A rise in interest rates raises the costs to business of borrowing money, and also causes customers to reduce their spending which leads to a fall in the businesses sale.

Spending - Government spending affects business. For example, if the government spends more on construction, this will increase the income of construction businesses, gas and electrical businesses.

Government changes laws and these have an effect on business such as;

The increase of a National Minimum Wage - Some companies may do well (big companies with high revenues) and others (small companies with low revenue such as cafes) may suffer from changes in the Minimum Wage as they have to increase the wage of their lowest-paid jobs. This will increase their costs and make it harder for them to make a profit to make the company grow.

Businesses are now been required to cater for disabled people, by building ramps into shops, offices, etc.

With names such as, ice cream and jelly bean for operating systems, one wonders if they have been acquired to simply confuse the general  public and the uneducted.Especially when one is at the moment residing in an environment which happens to be prodominantly chaves, something that is called asian culture; within a hood culture.

Having to further deal with the challenge of convincing family and friends, that you were indeed talking abot work and not treats, one is then subjected to local authorities that are unable to comprehend or deal with ones level of intelligence or religious beliefs and is then subjected to further insults and excuses for humiliation; in attempts to justify that success was actually, simply the effors of hard work and a genuine desire to help people. One is then witness to how local people take advantage of their positions by riduculling the educated and such virtues, for personal gain.

RIOTS

THE RIOTS IN EAST LONDON IN THE YEAR 2012.

The riots in the year 2012 in east london were not about politics or greed as Edwina Currie, put it so simply. The riots were about people starving and not having jobs to be able to provide for even the basic essentials they needed.

The system had failed these people and  and they were left with no choice but to actually steal food inorder to feed their families and themselves.

I happened to be living, literally up the road from where the riots that took place and these were not rich people or people that were comfortable that it could be argued; were exhibiting such actions because of a greed, these were not educated people, or even people that had an understanding or a knowledge of politics. These were just people that have tried a number of options and had been left with no other option. Some even said that it was rivalry between gangs.

This is a dodo bird, it is an incredibly friendly bird. When the pirates came travelling from island to island, this bird would run to meet them. Unfortunately the pirates killed the bird and ate it. This bird is now extinct. Extinct means that, the bird has died as a species, there are no more birds of that kind that now exist. If you are very young and friendly be very carefull whom you decide to befriend.

We say you are such a dodo, or dont act like a dodo; when someone acts a bit silly, it means that someone is acting not to clever, and its a pleasant way of saying that. Make references to people by differenciating them with their positive qualities and not the negative features.

stay around the people that are nice to you, but still be aware of what is happeneing around you. Dont let people leave you alone in a room by yourself, just because they are waiting for everyone elsa to catch up with you, because you were the one that was not wasting time.

The dodo still lives on in our hearts and our minds.

WE look to make these web sites easier to read, that will be fun and better!

HAND DRAWN

All pictures are hand drawn by the artist.

The drawings are taken from very basic ideas and transformed into more elaborate images.

These ideas are then further developed to become more elaborate concepts

THE BROTHER THE SISTER AND THE FARTHER CHRISTMAS.

Has the brother AND sister, become as much of a mythological  figurement of our imagination as much as farther Christmas himself, OR even FARTHER CHRISTMAS> KISSING MOMMY UNDER THE CHIMNEY< infront of the chimney.

The syntax was always intentional.

All of which can be too much for a child to deal with these days.

With the average brother today, claiming to posses on average 200 bitches, which he proudly uses as a selling point, to attract a better mate, as the “bitches” clearly do not serve that purpose. Or the sister that will do anything to refrain, from any activity that requires her to apologise or seek advice or guidance, from another, even whilst exhibiting road rage.

Highest scores of deceit should go to the local college that admits (admissions) hundreds of students every year with non refundable fees, accumulating billions in revenue. Reasons for this, because most students are expected to pay their fees in full which co- incidentally are never to be seen again. There may be an argument that would argue, this is acceptable according to the college terms, but of a class capacity of around 25 to 30 students and there still remaining an extra 5 students, (once a large number have enrolled and left within the first few weeks; of whom have also paid their fees,) there still remain an extra 5 on the class register. The behaviours of these students does not require for them to leave the course on which they have enrolled; what to do with them now. Because the class for this subject can only accommodate 25 students and although the lecturer has told everyone to arrive early and be on their best behaviour for the inspection, and himself seems to have undergone a change in personality, still cannot remove 5 students without good reason; and still be in a position to keep the non refundable fees that have been paid. So he sets about plotting to create a situation in which to remove these students. This may well be a difficult predicament for many if not most, but not for the skilled that have conducted this behaviour every year, for a number of years.

Some may argue this to be a somewhat deceitful act on behalf of the college, somewhat misleading, unless the college acceptance was just an excuse by which to gain access into the country to begin with. In which case everyone is happy except for immigration.  Without forgetting the fact that people have actually paid a fee to come to country to begin with. Such promise from marketing of a land that does not exist.

I must say it has all been rather a lot of excitement even for myself to deal with, not to forget the stop and search laws that don’t apply except until they apply to anyone and everyone, and charlottes web with that mind.

tudalu

none of this really matters , except of course survival.

... she signs off.

Look who I found taking a nap.

When the phrophets friends would call on the phrophet as they went to see the idols. Allah would make the phrophet fall aslep, so he missed his friends.

It was then that Allah gave him the knowledge of islam. The quran was given to the people in 30 parts.

It must have been the stangest experience to instantly fall asleep, every time.

THE GOVENMENT NEEDS TO CLEAN THE STREETS UP SO CHILDREN ARE NOT SCARED TO COME TO LONDON.

One day I was on my way to see someone in the afternoon and two groups of boys walked past me. These people are what would be walked pimps.

They search the streets for vulnerale people so that they can be prostituted so that these people; the pimps can make money from them.

Sometimes you can tell who these people are  by the way they dress, but this is not always the case anymore and more so it is becoming incresingly difficult to tell who these people are Bsimply by their appearance.

Clearly the conversations these people were having, made is very obvious what their purpose in london was on that day as they were looking for vulnerable children for this purpose.

One day I was in a shop called Jigsaw in Oxford street and I overheard a conversation between a pimp and a girl. He was telling her what she had to wear and how she had to wear her makeup. It was not nice the way he spoke to her.

Sometimes people may think that it is worth it for the material things but it is never worth it to work with these people for such reasons.

if you are homeless and need help, in the local vacinity, try this place it seems very nice,. you may need to put your name down on a waiting list.

eating out !

I have a gut like an ox. I have been suffering from a touch of food poisioning for the last few days, about 4 days to be exact.

Thats what eating out can do to you.

Best to drink lots of water at times like these and hope all the impuraties come out.

Its always best to cook at home as much as you can. Sometimes we are so rushed off our feet that we tend to grab something, on the go when out and about.

Its at times lke this that we realise that all these places are not what they seem and hygene levels need to be questioned.

The pictures were taken a few days ago, but will be shown very soon.

This guy keeps looking, starnge, something like out of movie. Then I start to heave these stomache cramps. Some people just can not handle the truth. Avoid eating at kebabish, on the leyton high road, at all costs.
